A page from the 1933 Herbalist Almanac advertising Sonora Tonic. The advertisement features four small images: (1) "Indians, on their long marches, sustained their endurance through chewing the leaves of 'Mate,' one of the main ingredients of Sonora Tonic." (2) "Aztec warriors, besieged for days without food or water, maintained their strength with Paraguay Tea, an important ingredient of Sonora Tonic." 3) "Mexicans, living in the parched desert under a tropical sun, refresh themselves with 'Mexican Mate,' (another ingredient in Sonora Tonic. It gives them pep and stamina." (4) "Mexicans curing Damiana Leaves, noted as a laxative, tonic, and aphrodisiac. Another ingredient of Sonora Tonic."
