Description
An account of the resource
Press Release from the Paterson Museum dated September 10, 2008. The release promotes the exhibit titled "The Well-Being Notice: 40 Vintage Pharmacy Window Displays," which ran from December 6, 2008, through January 25, 2009. The release includes details on the opening of the reception and the museum's hours. It also mentions several of the poster topics, such as influenza, life expectancy, fluoridation, senior citizens, and mental illness. The window displays were created by Frank Pinchak, a pharmacist practicing in Paterson, NJ. He founded the Professional Advancement Plan, a program that produced "ethical" poster displays on health education topics that didn't promote manufacturer products. Retail pharmacists around the country could obtain these poster sets for their pharmacy windows. By subscribing to Pinchak's program, pharmacies would receive a new poster set every two months.
